The Ranger III GTX Wide is a rugged and protective boot designed for multi-day trekking and hunting adventures in the backcountry while carrying a heavy pack weight of over 25 kg+ over long distances.
With a durable construction, heritage look, and ultimate comfort in mind, the Ranger III GTX is equipped to handle anything that requires a moderately stiff boot while remaining below the snowline (where its friend the Tibet GTX would be your perfect choice at alpine level).
This waterproof, durable boot features a breathable Gore-Tex waterproof membrane and a Vibram Natural outsole that stands up to the most extreme conditions.
Even better, they can be resoled to extend their life (and LOWAs always have a long life anyway).
Because it's a moderately stiff boot designed for hilly terrain, LOWA has taken extra care to ensure the upper provides the ultimate comfort while your feet remain supported.
This is achieved with a padded C4 Tongue that specifically cradles the left and right foot, a patented X-Lacing Stud to hold the tongue in place, and a unique lacing system to stop pinching as your ankle flexes.
Here's what customers have to say about their LOWA Ranger III Wide:

Tahr Hunters best friend
These are the most comfortable Hunting boots I have ever owned. Great in steep, rough terrain or long hauls. You know you won't have any issue with foot support with this boot - Andrew K.

Best boot I’ve owned
Best boots I have owned. I work as an Ecologist and hunt on the weekends, so I put 1-3 hard back country walks in a week. Other boots last about 6-12 months, depending, and my last pair of Rangers got 2 years. This will be my second set and I will get a 3rd in a few years time! - Jade C.

Sturdy and Comfortable
Did 25km the first weekend wearing them and they were comfy as straight off the bat. Good solid boots but a bit lighter and more flexible than my Tibets - Josh
