I used to swear by Lowa. These new ones are also very good with the new lacing system. But nowadays, even wide Lowa women's are super narrow. The pressure points are exactly where I don't want them - on my Taylor's bunions and corns. The boots have decent padding but nowhere near the total comfort a Scarpa offers. Better than Crispi padding, though - an in-betweener. The Lowa tongue is great with that tongue slide control button. But the tongue itself bunches and creates additional pressure points on the top of the foot. The laces are extremely irritating - very short and slidy, so they come undone if you can get them done up in the first place and unless you double-knot. The Crispi and Scarpa have way better longer laces that stay tight and fit the boot. Lowa is trying to skimp here! The durability is questionable - very. My hunter friends have suffered recently with Lowa boots that fell to bits in the middle of an expedition. Looking at my new ones in comparison with other brands and with New Zealand conditions in mind, I am relatively certain my new Lowas will suffer the same fate sooner than later. They aren't made like they used to be. They are trying to be fancy but have lost their robustness and are way too narrow for over 50yo feet.
