The LOWA Z-8N GTX C has impressed me from the outset. They are lightweight, comfortable, and fit true to size. The boot features a notably stiff midsole and base, which provides excellent stability and support underfoot, though it does mean there is limited flex at the front. The internal Gore-Tex lining creates a slight suction effect when putting the boots on or taking them off, but once they’re on, the fit is secure and very comfortable.

I tested them on a 4 km uphill trek involving dirt trails, steps, and uneven terrain. Throughout the walk I had no issues—no slipping, tripping, or hotspots—and the traction was consistently reliable. They were also worn in steady rain for a couple of hours, and my feet remained completely dry.

For day-to-day tasks, the boots have been equally solid. I wore them all day while doing yard work—mowing, trimming, weeding—and my feet didn’t overheat. The lacing system is dependable; once tied, the laces stay put without loosening over time.

One thing to note is the higher ankle profile, which doesn’t pair well with tapered or skinny jeans. A wider leg or boot-cut style works fine, and of course they’re ideal with shorts. Cleaning is straightforward—mud and debris rinse off easily with a hose.

Overall, I’m very pleased with these boots. They offer dependable support, excellent traction, strong weather protection, and all-day comfort. I’m looking forward to putting many more kilometres on them.

Really good boot. Very supportive around the ankle and arch area. Significantly reduced my foot fatigue after shifting from the issued boot to these.
They do fit biggish.

Recently got a pair of the Z8-N boots.
Really good fit out of the box. No blisters at all. No break in time. I got them to replace the boots that my work provides. I always get real sore feet especially the arch area with the provided boots, but not with the Lowa boots, should have got them years ago.
Only thing to note is the size seems to be on the larger side.
My normal is a 45 but Lowa 45’s fit similar to a 46, in fact these feel a bigger fit than my size 46 alpine hunting boots which I got a size bigger to allow for thicker socks.
